Tectum Labs 101 is a comprehensive overview of a part of our ecosystem that is not as popular as SoftNote. Very few people know that Tectum incubates new ideas and incorporates existing projects into our blockchain. In fact, the team is making significant progress with this segment of our network and has already onboarded two promising applications.
While Tectum Labs is growing, thanks to more projects and applications, this part of the company is still relatively unknown. Therefore, the team is educating members of our community and interested developers on the importance of this incubator.
This article will cover everything anyone needs to know about Tectum Labs. Who knows? The next big product or life-changing application may just be an application away.
Tectum Labs 101: The Idea Behind This Initiative
By now, anyone who follows our blog most likely knows about the history of our project. The founders of Crispmind (our mother company) worked in various organizations for years before starting an agency that developed products for third parties. While we do not intend to bore readers with this information, it is essential to highlight why the team built Tectum Labs.
Contrary to popular belief, Crispmind was not built on a foundation of rose petals. Its founders encountered numerous challenges, from technical to resource and institutional. However, the team was able to navigate through these hurdles using their joint wealth of experience and the limited resources they had.
Unlike Crispmind, many founders (especially those of budding projects) do not have any significant prior industry experience to guide them. Therefore, they have to learn from their mistakes, and this can be costly. Several firms in the past did not survive some of their “innocent mistakes” and had to fold up.
Contrary to popular opinion, a lot goes into building a successful enterprise that will withstand the test of time. From properly developing the idea and navigating the security threats to navigating complex regulations and satisfying a community of diverse users.
Tectum understands that these intricacies can be overwhelming for even the most experienced team, talk more of first-timers. Considering these factors, Crispmind decided to create Tectum Labs. This is an incubator program that provides an excellent environment to support the growth of budding projects.
Tectum Labs 101: Projects Already in Incubation
At the start of April, Tectum put up a tweet stating that two new projects are now part of our ecosystem. However, these intellectual properties were not developed in-house by our team. Instead, we are supporting budding developers to grow by providing them with the right sources, guidance and technical support.
Three Protocol
Three Protocol is the first project to be incubated in Tectum Labs. It is a decentralized marketplace that uses cutting-edge Neural Networks to match individuals to the perfect products, services and real-world assets perfect for them. This is a more efficient way to use cryptocurrencies, individuals do not have to convert them via a crypto off-ramp.
This project factors in human differences and has features to manage conflicts when they occur. One such measure includes an on-chain tri-signature DAO to resolve disputes between parties. In addition, the Three Protocols is perfect for individuals worried about their privacy and information rights.
To protect users from infringements, it utilizes zero-knowledge proofs. Instead of regular KYC, the system utilizes pseudonym profiles with ZKP history and reviews. While they can protect their identity, individuals must maintain decent histories and reviews to avoid losing their accounts or prestige.
Quantum Medical AI
Quantum Medical (QuantMed) AI was incorporated into Tectum Labs in January 2024. This medical ecosystem utilizes the power of blockchain technology and artificial intelligence to deliver healthcare services. QuantMed is further divided into four labs (Lepton, Proton, Fermion, and Boson) that combine to deliver efficient health-related services.
Lepton enables users to upload their medical histories, while Proton offers researchers access to the records. Fermion builds AI models for diagnosis, and Boston automates decision-making. It is important to note that participants voluntarily share their medical history and can have it removed anytime they want.
The QMD token powers this ecosystem and has a total supply of 200 million units. This token will serve as the reward system for users who choose to share their medical history with researchers. It is also the medium of paying for subscriptions and investing in the Quantum Medical ecosystem.
Benefits of Incubating Your Project into Tectum Labs
As highlighted in Tectum Labs 101, the Crispmind team will offer technical support, resources, and guidance to accepted applications. For context, below are the specific benefits of incubating your projects with Tectum:
- Management and Operations: Tectum will help the team identify their most essential areas of need. This includes HR support functions like payroll, policies, workflows, and contracts.
- Technical Infrastructure: Tectum will provide our blockchain network and the proper SDK necessary for developing the project. Our developers will also offer support whenever there are any technical challenges.
- Networking and Fundraising: The team will connect budding projects under its wings with venture capitalists and angel investors. We will also advise them on how to develop the right pitch that will create positive impressions on investors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Start-ups will receive the necessary legal guidance on all aspects of their operations, from institutional regulation to community management and ethical practices.
- Sales and Marketing: All incubated projects will be promoted on all internal and external Tectum media channels. The team will also guide start-ups on the best promotional and sales approach to create awareness about their products and services.
The best part about Tectum Labs is that budding projects are not mandated to use Tectum Emission Tokens as the cryptocurrency powering their ecosystem.
How to Apply and Bring Your Project Onboard
Tectum Labs is dedicated to grooming unique ideas into reality. Interested developers can apply for incubation by following the steps below:
- Visit the Tectum Labs website
- Click on “Apply Now”
- Fill out the application form
- Enter all necessary information that will support your application
The team typically responds within two weeks. However, developers should not relent if they do not get feedback within this stipulated period. Tectum has to prioritize submitted projects.
Therefore, there may be a possibility for considering later in the future. We intend to focus on a few projects at a time to ensure that they get maximum support. Other projects will come into consideration once current start-ups are able to stand on their own.
